Sony Interactive Entertainment*, formerly known as Sony Computer Entertainment, is a recognized global leader in interactive and digital entertainment. Established as a joint venture between Sony Corporation and Sony Music Entertainment Japan Inc. in 1993, Sony Interactive Entertainment (SIE) is responsible for the PlayStation brand and family of products and services.
The PlayStation brand and family of products and services currently include PlayStation 5, PlayStation 4, and PlayStation VR Systems, PlayStation Store, PlayStation Plus, PlayStation Now, and acclaimed PlayStation software titles from PlayStation Studios.
Currently headquartered in San Mateo, California, SIE is a wholly owned subsidiary of Sony Corporation of America and has global functions in California, London, and Tokyo.
